GTA 6 Won't Feature Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed he will not appear in GTA 6, despite his surprise playable cameo in WWE 2K26.
The WWE 2K26 Cameo That Started the Rumours
When Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick showed up as a fully playable character in WWE 2K26, it naturally got people wondering whether the executive might sneak a similar appearance into GTA 6. After all, with Rockstar's biggest release ever arriving on November 19, 2026, a cheeky CEO cameo seemed like exactly the kind of Easter egg fans would lose their minds over.
How the WWE Cameo Actually Happened
Zelnick explained to IGN that the WWE 2K26 appearance was entirely his own idea — no groundswell of fan demand, no corporate strategy behind it. He simply asked the development team if they could make it happen, headed to a soundstage for motion capture, and everyone had a good time with it. He said he genuinely enjoys WWE and figured it would raise a smile among industry insiders and maybe entertain a few players too.
The response online was, by his own admission, more of a collective "huh?" than a roar of excitement — something he acknowledged he probably deserved.
Zelnick noted the feature performed well in terms of player engagement, even if the internet reaction was decidedly muted.
Don't Expect Him in Vice City
Despite the curiosity his WWE appearance sparked, Zelnick was direct when asked about GTA 6: he will not be in it. No cameo, no Easter egg, no hidden mission involving the boss of Take-Two.
